The Acia Berry

The acai berry is considered to be nature’s perfect food. Acai berries are found on a type of palm tree that is common in the flood plain of the Amazon River. These tiny berries are a dark purple when they are full-grown. The size of the acia berry is that of a blueberry. The berry contains edible fruit, which consists of only a thin layer, and surrounds a large seed. Brazilians have used the acai berry over the years for digestive, and skin conditions. Now that the berry has hit the market, there have been claims that juice made from acai, aids in weight loss, the lowering of cholesterol, and increase in energy. There are many fruits available on the market, but the acai berry contains the most vitamins, minerals, and essential fatty acids. Fatty acids are beneficial for maintaining healthy cholesterol levels. The acai berry also contains vitamin B1, B2, B3, vitamin C, vitamin E, iron, potassium, phosphorus and calcium. In addition, it contains essential fatty acids, which include, Omega 6, Omega 9, and all of the essential amino acids. Acai also contains more protein than an average egg. The amount of vitamin E that is found in the acia berry is two times the daily value, which is essential for the regeneration of tissue that has been damaged. The high fiber substance found in the berry, aids in intestinal function. With the presents of high fiber, an important role is played in avoiding colon cancer. What really sets the acai berry apart from other known berries is their antioxidant substance. Studies have revealed that acai has up to 33 times more antioxidant than red wine grapes. Research has shown that antioxidants are crucial to strengthening the body’s ability to fight disease.

In order to combat cardiovascular diseases, the consumption of foods that are loaded with compounds that reduce cholesterol and blood pressure are necessary. Antioxidants are vital. The acai berry is the most powerful antioxidant food on the market today. You will find acai in the form of juices, and there are many on the market today. Be sure to read the labels to determine which contain the most pure forms of the acai berry.

Acai
A remarkable concentration of antioxidants that help combat premature aging, with 10 times more antioxidants than red grapes and 10 to 30 times the anthocyanins of red wine.
A synergy of monounsaturated (healthy) fats, dietary fiber and phytosterols to help promote cardiovascular and digestive health.
An almost perfect essential amino acid complex in conjunction with valuable trace minerals, vital to proper muscle contraction and regeneration. The fatty acid content in acai resembles that of olive oil, and is rich in monounsaturated oleic acid. Oleic acid is important for a number of reasons. It helps omega-3 fish oils penetrate the cell membrane; together they help make cell membranes more supple. By keeping the cell membrane supple, all hormones, neurotransmitter and insulin receptors function more efficiently. This is particularly important because high insulin levels create an inflammatory state, and we know, inflammation causes aging.

I read about acia berries in the paper the other day and decided to do some research on them. The two paragraphs above I retrieved from google sites.
I don't know about all of you, but this is something I'm going to try.
Juice is the best way to consume acia and probably the best way to get the juice is to shop around on the internet.
If any of you have heard of acia, do you know if you can get it in powder or vitamin form?
