A#1 - The syrinx in getting smaller!!! It's not that much smaller but a) it's not under pressure and b) it's not getting bigger = the news we've been waiting for since Luca was 4 weeks old. This means his spinal cord is no longer in danger, and that the surgery this summer worked.
#2, and only slightly less amazing - Luca's neck looks "fine": the slipped cervical disk is indeed stable, and there is no need to do anything about it (i.e. surgery to fuse the vertabrae = nightmare for a little boy who needs to grow.)
And only slightly less well known is this: never go against a Sicilian when DEATH is on the line!
Needless to say, Frank is doing cartwheels for the both of us (much to Luca's embarassment...)
