I just came across this on a blog. This is Fred Thompson's address to the National Right to Life Convention. For those of you who don't know, Fred Thompson will most likely be running for President. (And yes, you recognize him. He was on "Law and Order".)
Dad, I agree with you. I just want to like this guy...we'll see where it goes.

As you say, I want to like this guy. As Frank knows, my cyncism runs deep. I don't need a guy who can stand toe-to-toe with the withering glare of 24/7 coverage. I need a guy who's heart I believe is on the right place. Is that Fred? I don't know. I have no use for Rudy or Mitt or what's his name from Arizona. I feel like this is a last gasp for common sense (the most uncommon or all virtues). Do we, as Americans, have an instinct for the right, or are we outnumbered for now? If we're outnumbered, well that's OK too. We'll just shift gears, or rather I'll re-examine Granner's logic.
"The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it." - George Bernard Shaw
"Remember, beneath every cynic there lies a romantic, and probably an injured one" - Glenn Beck
“In the end, ... that's what this election is about. Do we participate in a politics of cynicism, or do we participate in a politics of hope?” - Barack Obama
"Forgive me, but I'm in a quote phase for some reason" - Frank Gramuglia (1976- )
I really hope he's going to be our guy.
