Solemnity of the Assumption of Mary

"Mary is the open door to God. In talking to her we can be completely unselfconscious, we can come begging to her like little children, trustingly, in a way people often would not dare to do with Christ. This is the language of the heart. The way this language expresses itself in a network of shrines shows again and again how the heart of man is touched by this. This is the faith that Christ tells us can move mountain."
--Pope Benedict XVI in God in the World

Take a moment and say a prayer to Mary. Ask her for help on something important. The Church teaches that she is our greatest intecessor, that she pleads our case in a special way with God. Like all good mothers do!

Thank you, Clare. Mary's Feast days are my favorites; I find a very special comfort in these.
