I just wanted to repost this since I know most of us stop scrolling after awhile when posts get older. I have copied the old responses (as far as gifts are concerned) and have added mine. I encourage all to do the same as time is ticking.
Cookbooks for me. And I always love clothes/gift certificates in this sad sad era of my life where I am refused the pleasure of shopping.
Chad loves everything technology... Actually, I have NO idea how expensive it is, but he is pretty enthralled by the "Guitar Hero" game for the Nintendo Wii. And he digs yoga, soccer, science fiction/horror, and movies.

It's been done (thank you, Frank) but giftcards to Southwest Airlines is always good for me since I am trying to go to California to see David this May. As for something different, I've become obsessed with the show "The Office" (I feel a post coming up) so the dvds for season 2 or 3 would be FABULOUS (season 1 is only one disc and let's be serious, I can get that myself). Other than that ya'll know me and I love clothes. Or sheet music that isn't overly-ambitious for marginal pianists.
For me: Money towards a digital video recorder. I'm done with the web cam and the 20 seconds I get with my camera! And Maggie's getting big. Or I am also looking to continue my Seasons of Friends (shut up, Mom) I have Seasons 1-3 and 5 (don't ask about 4), or maybe tickets to a show in Philadelphia, not NY.
i've thought long and hard and here is what i would REALLY love:
vera bradley duffel bag coco chanel perfume (yumm) a sophisticated tote bag for my sophisticated post-college life "dances with wolves" dvd
while the first few aren't ridiculously pricey, they aren't cheap. but let's face it - we're getting older and i'd rather a gift certificate TOWARDS a great quality item that i'd really love but wouldn't buy myself, rather than anything else.
Additional ideas for me: Gift Certificates for clothing - I don't know when I will be a size that will allow me to buy clothing again, but when I am, I will need it; nice slippers for the winter; a U2 CD, or the new JT CD.
For Sean:
-Call of Duty 4 for XBox 360 -Assassin Creed for XBox 360 -Live Free or Die Hard (DVD) -Once (DVD) -Gift Certificate to Previn (a professional knife and chef tool store)
I can't think of much else but I just remembered a pair of sunglasses I really loved last summer...so a giftcard to that sunglasses store at the Buckland Mall where I know someone who can get me a discount would be presh. (sorry, can't remember the store name at the moment)
Annie...how very Sex in the City,of you (name necklace, ew)
Jimmy, he's always hard,I know. -Gift cert to Bass is always good -slippers with leather bottoms -the movie Saw 3 (yuck,I know) -long sleeve v-neck tops - I'll have more ideas to tell mom later-you can ask her
Maureen -I would love new slippers as well. -size 6 pencil skirt in pewter or chocolate -gift cert to showcase cinemas -stainless steel emulsion blender ( I may have told Jimmy this already, though) -excersize/yoga mat -new scarf -leather gloves(probably large:)) -mineral veil from Bare Esentuals Take your pick!....or anything you already had in mind
You said it,not me........if it was a joke request(I hope so) it didn't read like it-that would have been funny. But since it looked like a real gift idea, take the heat, dear!
I have spoken to Cy ( pre request from his Kris Kringle) and he will be sending suggestions asap. - to me, in an email, which I will forward.
He said he checks the blog about every three months!!! I told him he REALLY needed to do this more often.
He's tiling his bathroom and getting the upstairs ready to rent at which time, he tells me, he will be out from under the pressure cooker and be able to devote more time to the blogsite.
I also asked him about his wedding pictures. He'll either be sending me a disk full of pictures to choose...or post them himself.
(OH, he said he was going to post pictures of the new bathroom...so maybe he is serious about doing this... Yay)
And for Cathy....gift cards to either Walmart or Joanna - she really wants sewing stuff...and maybe a personal item...earings, etc.
So what if this is my third present request post? -Bare Minerals stuff sounds fabulous...maybe some of their pretty eyeshadow foil things...or their peachy dusk blush. Or any of their brushes.
Aloise....you'll want vanilla sugar for eyeshadow. The prettiest one I've tried, but you can't buy it separate, comes with three others in a set. Charity finally got on the bare minerals bandwagon, and it's changed her life, too. I tried hers......oohh it's so pretty!!!!!!!!!!!
Ooh, ooh, other Bare Minerals things for me, too. Martha, did you say there's a fabulous charcoal eyeshadow/liner? Or the vanilla sugar sounds delicious, too. Do they have good blushes?
All that I want is an automatic car starter that will work with a 1998 Honda Accord. Man, that would be awesome. By the time I go out to scrape my car, the ice wil wooooosh right off. Awesome.
And I already got Chad Guitar Hero for his Birthday FYI. So in case whoever has him was going down that lane- don't.
And Mary- get the charcoal. And their blushes are the best. Get "Beauty." With the eyeliner you will a tiny straightedge brush. Tiny tiny. But let's be serious, Q tips work as well.
I don't know if anyone's checking this at this point, but I'd really like a North Face. They're quite expensive so money towards that would be awesome (Mom's favorite word).
Maureen, I only just saw now your input on the eye shadow -- that vanilla stuff sounds yummy.
Also, ADD: a knockoff checked camel Burberry scarf. Emphasis on the KNOCKOFF. $250 for a scarf should be illegal.
ADD: Giftcard for Lenscrafters. Meneeds new, mature-looking glasses.

Agreed Lisette.
So far, here's what I've thunk up:
- That it be called Christmas and not Holiday (psst! Norm, can you change that? I really hate it.)
- Tickets to a symphony in CT, classical. NO Gershwin please. Ew.
- Really nice makeup brushes
- An apron for cooking.
- Copies of great music that you have that you think I'd like
- Gift certificate to the Apple store for speakers for our computer
- Dutch oven
- Earrings. I'd love some (fake) pearl studs... or something a little dangly and delicate, but not chandalier
- Gold necklace with my name on a pendant in the middle
- Gift certificate to a good frame shop (not a Michaels, etc) to get our painting from Uncle Michael framed
- An ornament
xoxoxoxo

Also for Sean, a book called "What is the What" by David Eggers

Aloise...presh???
Wow.
Annie...how very Sex in the City,of you (name necklace, ew)

This is CRACKING me up for some reason. And eww yourself Maureen! Gosh! :)
Aloise- Sun Glass Hut, no?
Yeah, I REALLY want a gold necklace that says "Annie", preferable in script. With a cubic zirconium to dot the "i".
You said it,not me........if it was a joke request(I hope so) it didn't read like it-that would have been funny.
But since it looked like a real gift idea, take the heat, dear!
I know it didn't look like a joke... sort of my brand of humor and why I'm not always a welcome guest at parties.
I was worried a little that someone might take me seriously... guess I should have been!
The "ew" part was really what I was after. And may I say, I LOVE that you just came right out and said it, no qualms.
#1 Annie, I too thought you were serious.
#2 The reason I thought you were serious is because I kinda want one.
What? I've seen a lot of young Hollywood wear them and I think they are sorta cute.
I have spoken to Cy ( pre request from his Kris Kringle) and he will be sending suggestions asap. - to me, in an email, which I will forward.

I got your joke, Annie. God, does anyone get you besides me?
And I second that emotion about Mo. She was like, ew, right off the bat. No bones.
No clothes cuz I'm too picky. But I love gift certificates! Stores I love: APC, Bird (in Park Slope Brooklyn), Steven Alan.
Pull a girl up onto the slipperwagon. With soles, plez.
If you're good at this stuff, earrings (What a bitch I am). I only have one pair.
A BIG salad bowl.
Bare Minerals Mineral Veil.
Out of Africa DVD.
And this is what I WON'T miss about having Lisette around: the young Hollywood ANYTHING!
Double ew.
Ew. Ew.
Uh oh, Pants, looks like Storm's post is inching its way toward your epic 34 comments.
#21
So what if this is my third present request post?
-Bare Minerals stuff sounds fabulous...maybe some of their pretty eyeshadow foil things...or their peachy dusk blush. Or any of their brushes.
Another idea for Sean; Planet Earth or Blue Planet by BBC Video.
Ok, fine, Bare Minerals stuff for me too.
DELETE the Dutch oven idea. I don't cook that much, let's not kid.
DELETE apron. SO sorry if you already got me these things! But that's why you keep receipts, right?
DELETE gift certificate to the Apple store. I want something for ME and only ME.
ADD socks. For brown pants and blue pants and jeans.
All that I want is an automatic car starter that will work with a 1998 Honda Accord. Man, that would be awesome. By the time I go out to scrape my car, the ice wil wooooosh right off. Awesome.
And I already got Chad Guitar Hero for his Birthday FYI. So in case whoever has him was going down that lane- don't.

update for leezette's christmas list:
DELETE sophisticated tote-bag. i can get one myself.
ADD a really great sweater vest.
ADD a hula girl for the dashboard of my car.
Thought I should help my secret santa, so possibilities for me:
1. Money towards a Jake Spade travel bag, I really want one that zips and I got a guy for discounts.
2. A gift certificate to Sephora. I got on the make-up bandwagon late, but it's a good ride.
3. The movie "Zelary"
I will post more when I think of them! And if you have already bought, wonderful!
BTW - Hope it goes without saying that the stuff I posted are just ideas in case they help. I'm always up for unexpected gifts!
I don't know if anyone's checking this at this point, but I'd really like a North Face. They're quite expensive so money towards that would be awesome (Mom's favorite word).
