I'm so sorry I'm late with this -- but as you all heard, my blogging rights have been expelled from MetLife of Connecticut. Anywho...Merry Christmas Everyone!!!!
Man, I've been waiting to say that for 311 days now and I ho-ho-hope you all have to! While it's not quite time to light your advent wreaths or hang up your stockings, it's that special time of year where the malls bustle with glistening Christmas trees and ornaments and the radio stations start playing the classic tunes of Bing Crosby and Judy Garland. It's the month of Christmas preparations!
So... get out of your holiday cookbooks, start making red and green paper-links, plan to go see the tree in Rockefeller Center, and put those carols onto CDs (don't ignore that various and equally wonderful versions of "O Holy Night," sung by The Vienna Boy's Choir, the Home Alone Soundtrack, Celine Dion, Andrea Boccelli, Josh Grobin, and Mariah Carey!) and get ready for CHRISTMAS!!! IT'S ONLY 54 DAYS AWAY!!!
Mary, I vote this be added to our favorite sites list:

Hey....you don't have to live with her!
Lisette: that comment is for when I want to pull my hair out and SCREAM at all the pre-Christmas stuff out there, this year WELL before Halloween...so that by the time Christmas is here I can hardly wait for Jan.
But you, my dear, add that special Christmas quality that is so rarely found; you just really love Christmas and all that it has to offer.
So, although I don't take back my comment ( because this is a precursor to the Christmas songs I KNOW I'm going to be hearing here at home, too soon), I also have to tell you that I love your Christmas spirit...especially since you don't give a hoot that it drives the rest of us crazy THE DAY AFTER HALLOWEEN!
I've already finished half my Christmas shopping : )
Ann, I'm right there with you, and it feels great.
Lisette, now that I don't have to live with you, I can be happy for you that your favorite time of year is here. Even though the rest of us won't be on the bandwagon for another 4 weeks.
Have fun, Mom, Dad, and Brent!
I have to say, I'm with Lisette on this one. I'm especially excited for Christmas this year. I've had a post-it countdown taped to my wall for about 3 weeks with a sign saying "DAYS REMAINING UNTIL CHRISTMAS"...in fact, I think I'll remove yesterday's now. Also, I set an alarm Wednesday OF my Christmas ringtone at exactly midnight of November 1st so that I could change back TO my Christmas ringtone. Finally, I've been listening to Mariah Carey's "All I Want For Christmas Is You" on repeat a lot whilst wandering about campus. Bring on the paper links, Lisette.
Lisette(and now I'll add Aloise!) I love the xmas spirit you've always had. And I've NEVER ever thought it was annoying.
Half my shopping is done as well, and the process is so much less daunting. AND.... my secret santas are DONE!!!!!
BTW.... Should we have Cy and Cathy bring their secret S. gifts to leave here on Thanksgiving? Their people can mail theirs to them, but Cy and Cathy can be forgetful, they'll never remember to send theirs(no offense). I'm even going to give them presents for the boys to take back....
Would this put too much pressure on them?
Cathy is on top of her Kris Kringle - so no worry there. As far as Cy goes...I' asked him over a month ago for his list...ha ha!
Anyway, I'm going to Baltimore the week of the 12th so I WILL come back with ideas and I'll suggest to them about brining their gifts for Thanksgiving.
PS I HATE all of you who have your shopping done!
PPS. But it does give me incentive to get my own out of the way.
Shopping now is SO much fun! You get to enjoy the Christmas displays without ANY pressure. You think to yourself "Wow I will be able to relax during Advent, maybe even make Christmas cookies!" And you feel like a hundred bucks for being so proactive. AND you get a jumpstart on that Christmassy feeling.
Maureen, I think it's a great idea for them to bring the gifts if they can. I am planning on bringing mine when we visit for your party.
HAHAHA! I love, btw, how we can freely criticize Cy and Cathy because they NEVER CHECK THE BLOG!
Suckers.
You said it....ha ha to them!
Not meaning to hurt feelings,of course.......but I just KNEW there was no danger of that at all here..
Suckers.
Until the day comes when they DO check the blogsite!!!
All the more reason to load up the remarks. They deserve it.
