But sometimes winning is really just amazing.
Down by 13 at the half, the game had all the makings of a classic St. Agnes collapse under pressure. But last night the boys came out in the 3rd and were obviously ready to fight. They surged late in the third quarter and slowly but surely shut down Blessed Sacrament's offense. They returned in the 4th with a string of baskets, and stunned the crowd as they took their first lead with only 5 minutes left in the game. We were absolutely on fire in the stands, we couldn't believe it was actually happening, and neither could Blessed Sacrament) In almost an exact reversal of last year, Agnes came steadily from behind to take back the game. We were beside ourselves. So, so, so much pure fun and excitement, it was awesome. Here are some pictures!
Members of our awesome freshman class come to cheer.
At 6'4", senior star Matt, (half Polish, half Ugandan!) shows off his wingspan.
Senior captains and best friends Eric and Matt, and junior Brandon, pose with Matt's niece.
Juniors and their freshman "son" Nick (guess which one) celebrate on the bus ride back to NYC.

Sooo cool! GO STAGS!!!
16 point comeback in the city championship finals against the Goliath team that beat your underdog school last year led by a first year head coach? If I were you I would option the movie rights.
Congrats!
