Chad, Mary, and I had the wonderful fortune of getting last minute tickets to the Pope's mass at Yankee Stadium on Sunday. Little did we know that we had the BEST seats in the whole place! Not only were we field level (12 rows from the first baseline), we were also positioned in precisely the spot where Benedict exited and entered from the Popemobile!!
Here is video I captured as he was leaving. A stadium security guard tried to tell us that we couldn't stand on the seats as we waited for him to come out. We just looked at the half dozen or so NYPD standing on seats in front of us, and confidently maintained our position.
He looked right at us! (Cue my scream). I wish you all could have been there.

No, really, guys, not to make you jealous (to make you jealous), but he was so close to us. I mean about 20 feet away. Awesome to be in his presence, and awesome to see the effect of his presence on the crowd.
