She always makes me do my jobs!
Yes, here it is: my to-do list should Annie go into labor in the middle of the night. I love it!
And it doesn't escape me for one moment, remembering how fortunate Dad and I were to have Granny with us every time one of you made your entrances into the world. "Honey, it's time!" just doesn't play after you've had your first.
So Mary, my dear: take note. Ha ha. Next time, it's gonna be you!
Hi Mom,
Just a quick list of Luca's morning, as discussed:
He wakes up somewhere around 6:30, and we let him play in there for a bit. When you're ready to get him up, give him the milk cup that will be prepped and in the fridge. Also give him the syringe of Ditropan (already prepped, on the counter to the right of the oven).
We will try to have the coffee timed to brew at 7, to be ready when you get up. If it's not set up, coffee beans are in one of jars near the coffee maker. Grind2-3 scoops for 20 seconds. Fill water to 5-6 cup. Brew away.
Splenda is in the cupboard above the coffee maker. We're out of sugar/I don't use it, so if you don't want Splenda try the maple syrup, it's my favorite incoffee.
Whenever you're both awake and ready (maybe 8ish?),cath him and get him dressed.
Breakfast is 1 egg and 1 waffle (in the freezer -toast on setting 6) with butter. You can scramble it using his rice milk. He likes to watch a DVD when he dines in the morning. His current favorite will be loaded up in the portable DVD player, on the kitchen table or thereabouts.
Bring him to Maria's whenever you're ready .(and here, detailed directions)
Cathing: We'll have the urinal and catheter ready for you on his wooden chair in his room. Wash your hands well, and sit him in his chair. Wipe his penis clean with baby wipe. Open lubricant packet. Open catheter on the blue side so you touch the tipless. Put tip in lubricant all the way, so you get plenty of lube. Put blue part of catheter in urinal, awaiting flow of urine. Put it in his penis until you feel resistance or until urine starts flowing. If you feel resistance, it's the sphincter - tap at it like tapping at a door until it relaxes. ** Every once in a while, the sphincter just doesn't want to give. You might keep him on his chair, read him a short book, and then try again. Once urine starts flowing, push cath in another half inch or so and let majority of urine flow out. When it stops flowing, very slowly pull cath out, just a little at a time. Very often you'll get more urine as the cath moves to the bottom of his bladder. When it seems empty, pinch the catheter so nothing flows back into the bladder, and pull it completely out. We wrap the cath around the cap on the urinal with both ends inside so it's easier to handle, but put it where ever works for you - you're just going to throw it away.
I think that's it...?
Thanks for everything Mom!!!!l
love, Annie
