Following up on Dad's post regrading special prayers you might choose for your person, keep this in mind - the idea behind the prayer card:
Throughout the
year we will pray for that person, especially for God's
special intentions for them and the deepening conversion
of their hearts.
With that in mind, here is something I read the other day that speaks beautifuly of one's vocation:
"Vocation gives a new meaning even to the most ordinary things. The whole life is affected by Our Lord's plans for each of us. The discovery of one's personal vocation is the most important point in each person's existence. It changes everything without changing anything; just as a landscape, without changing, is different before and after the sun goes down, beneath the light of the moon, or wrapped in the darkness of night. Every discovery gives a new beauty to things, and a new light creates new shadows; one discovery is the prelude to other discoveries of new lights and more beauty".

Great passage, Mom.
There is a quote from Catherine of Sienna that was on a card I once bought. If it didn;t come from a saint, I might have passed it off as some corny, new-agey, feel good, barf, barf, barf. But it IS from a saint, which means it's true, which means, holy..
"If you are what you should be, you will set the world ablaze."
No sparks as of yet here. Perhaps a good New Year's resolution will be to try a little harder.
