Remember, folks, make sure ALL your lights are ON tonight to celebrate EARTH HOUR. Make your MOTHER happy.

Just read an article in the NYTimes about all the losers who changed their regular light bulbs for flourescent bulbs to save the UNIVERSE. The bulbs lasted for a few hours and are toxic to get rid of. (Atleast you don't have to turn them off for Earth Hour...)
Hahahahaha. Losers.
I am actually all for environmental concerns. We are told in Genesis that we are meant to protect what God created. But man oh man am I tired of the secular religion of climate issues. What it more boring than that?
Don't get me wrong, I'm against all rape of the good earth, and all for responsible stewardship. It's the sanctimonious hypocrisy, and "seals are good/babies are bad" that I thumb my nose at. (See "The Front Porch Republic" under "sites" to the right, which I love).

Frank and I (mostly Frank) installed a chandelier on Saturday and had the power turned off for a few hours.
I said, Frank we're doing that Earth Hour thing accidentally!
"You TRICKED me!" (I had to do a double take, he sounded so serious)
"That's it. *I'm* doing laundry tonight!" (it would have been the first time w/this machine)
He was relieved to find out that whilst our lights went back on at about 7:30pm, the actual Earth Hour didn't start at 8:30.
(And phew! He didn't have to do laundry after all. )
