Maureen's first day of school. What a cutie!
My first attempt at a "from scratch" themed birthday cake, this was a huge butterfly for Maureen's 6th birthday, 30 years ago! Dad was really into it as well. He cut the various pieces to shape the wings and took the younger kids to "Bob's Big M" to buy licorice, little red candies and the such, all to add to the decor of the cake. Boy, were we proud of ourselves! Maureen was duly impressed.Happy Birthday, Maureen!

I helped mom make that cake for you! One of my favorite memories.
(though, since i remember it, I thought, huh I'd only have been 2.5... so I counted the candles on the cake - could that have been Mojo's 8th birthday maybe?)
