Luca is having an MRI this morning, er, right now (11am). It's time finally to see if surgery and the stent (drain) placed a year ago did the job, and whether the syrinx (pocket of fluid) in his spinal column has decreased or, dare we hope disappeared.
All Hail Holy Queens and other forms of prayer would be lovely.
I don't know when we'll get the results, but we'll keep you posted as soon as we know.

2:45pm - The boys are home, Luca looks great (he has to go under general anesthesia to stay put during the MRI). He got to eat a grape popsicle and pick out a toy. At his fingertips were motorcycles, cars, DVDs, Star Wars figures, the works.
You'll be oh so surprised to see what he picked:
In fairness, it was between Upwords and Scrabble. But we already have Scrabble so...
We have the disk in hand, but since we're not radiologists I think we'll hold off looking at it and making ourselves messed with worry, unable to figure if the size has changed.

Luca read all these comments last night.
His favorites were Mom's and Dad's. He asked me today how to spell "so", b/c he loved how many o's Poppy put in his message. And at dinner tonight he said "Hi L-U-C-A, This is M-A."
He is TM. And he loves his Ma and Poppy. And doesn't quite understand why Ma is w/o Poppy so often. (But I'm not sure Ma or Poppy understand that either.)
Luca, Luca, Luca. I have such a wonderful sense of peace and happiness when I think on you. What a strong, strong soul you are my sweet boy.
