And So It Goes...!

Well all good journeys must end sometime! They were wonderful in competition tonight, but I have often said that experience is everything and the girls just had a bit more polish throughout. Their moderator, a lovely and gracious women who I like a lot, in no small part because she reminds me in manners and looks of Lita, has had 22 years of experience as a Mock Trial coach. She approached me and some of the boys to congratulate us on a fine performance and said that in her experience, all teams that make it to top 8 are championship material. So much depends what the "judge" does or does not prefer. That said, I think her girls were professional and very good and deserved the win and agree with the ruling.

(To put it in perspective, they have known and been practicing techniques and points that we have only just recently learned for years...)

And our reaction? Although were playing to win, we all actually just feel...relieved?! Because it is SPRING!! Time to run around outside and enjoy the sunshine and friendships. My mostly senior team has only a month left at Agnes and I think it is better off spent in the sunshine than in the courtroom. (And seriously, it is a ton of work, very, very detailed work that makes my head hurt sometimes.)

As for me, I'm kicking back with a beer, pleased as spiked punch. These guys have been so tremendous and impressive, and I just couldn't be more delighted with their dedication and love. But I have some pretty big and unexpected things that need careful prayer and consideration, so the good Lord provides me the time. God is good! (I also have 120 other students and a Talent Show to produce...)

Besides, we still get a plaque.

Go Stags!

What an awesome accomplishment by you and your Stags. As Frank says: A hell of a run!

PS Clare: I'm praying. Tomorrow is Lita's birthday...give her a run.
