Some of you are asking for updates...most don't know what's going on. So I'll explain it briefly to avoid a million questions come Sunday's party, just having left the surgeon's office.
Jimmy has a cyst that's been growing in his abdomin, which we found out at the surgeon's today, is attached to his small intestine. very benign at this point, but left inside could grow cancerous or attach to his bladder or bowels. A cyst in this location is rare, but not an emergency if removed quickly.
Also noticed, was that his appendix is calcified...we dont need this anyway, so surgeon will remove it along with cyst.
First of all, Jim is doing fantastic with the stress of all this he must be under. And we feel really good about our doctor. Hopefully there is room in doc's sched to do surgery June 5th. Jim will be in hospital for a week's recovery, since they need to remove part of small intestine, and out of work for up to 3 months (can't lift anything over 5lbs,yikes!)
I will be picking up extra shifts at work while he plays mr mom, and he hopes to still have some money coming in if he gets his guys to do all the jobs pooring in.
Most important thing is Jim should be perfect after this. It may be tough juggling baseball, end of yr things and summer stuff, but my husband will be good as new eventually. He has such a great spirit and faith about him......:)
Absolutely we need you to keep him in your prayers. And I know these things just make us better and stronger.

Hang in there both of you. Sounds like you're doing great. This all sounds like very good news. Love you both.
And, hey, Jim, it could have been worse than having the summer off, eh?
Thanks for posting about this to explain to us all.
Just thinking the same thing -- Summer vacation! ; )
I bet you'll actually look back on 3 months at home w/the boys with the best of memories. AND you'll put your guys to the test -- hey, you never know! You might discover they can run the ship w/o you and you might actually be able to retire earlier rather than later and have $$$ coming in from an active business!
You're all in my prayers.
As I mentioned over the phone, the LEAST of your worries should be about who will watch your boys while you're at the hospital.
I'm here whenever you need me.
Dad and I will have Uncle Michael say a special Mass for Jim when we're in France. And for you. And for the lads.
All my love to you both.
Jim, you'll be fine. I guess you just weren't getting enough attention on this blog. Way to up the ante. There will be updates after the surgery, and then during recovery...way to get your 15 minutes :)
We love you guys!
Thanks for the prayers, and I'm sure everything will be fine, just very nerve-wracking!
My prayers are with your strong, strong, loving family. The first family of many. I love you.
But mostly, I see that picture in the truck and think, what a handsome man Jim is! Handsome and so good!
He is pretty hot!
