Under construction

I thought the floors were done in Cy's house. They weren't. Cy and Cathi had spent hours cleaning and waxing the old floors only to have Cy decide ( the day before I arrived) that he was going to lay down new hardwood floors instead. He worked on them the first 2 days I was there and finished the last piece in the dining room close to midnight on Monday.

This is what the main area of the house looked like when I arrived. Cy, Cathi and the boys had been virtually living upstairs for 2 weeks while the original floors were being worked on - and walls painted. "This is GOOD", remarked Cathi, "compared to how it's been most of the summer." Think exposed pipes, hanging light fixtures, sheet rock, partial walls taken down and replaced; you name it, Cy did it.

Now and then one of the boys lend a hand. I bought them Matchbox car racers and we used the empty boxes to make roads and tunnels.
And here you see Cy hard at work, finishing the last of the dining room.
