I know that a lot of you don't really get attached to animals, so this may not mean much to everyone, but we had to put K.B. down today. This was a very difficult decision that we struggled with over the past week. Lately she has been very tired and weak, and it soon became apparent that something was very wrong. The vet said it was likely cancer, but we didn't want to go through all the tests. We got some painkillers for her and some other pills just to see if she could improve, but she actually got worse. I am posting this because she meant a great deal to me, and an even greater deal to Sean. She has been in our life since only months after we started dating... and 10 years is a long time. She was a wonderful dog and this has been a very difficult day. I have kept my feelings at bay because Sean is taking this quite hard, but actually, it is really starting to hit me this evening. I really loved that dog, and I am going to miss her.

Oh Nora, I'm sooo sorry. I was younger than Sean when I lost my first dog, and when your other called me I felt like I'd lost a child. I guess that's why I never got that attached to a dog again.
Me too, Nora. So sorry for you and Sean.
Cali wasn't that long ago and I certainly didn't have a 10 year, deep attachment to her but you know how her death affected me.
Norm, this makes me want to cry. I'm sorry you and Sean had to make this decision and I'm sorry you had to see her go.
sorry Nora and Sean that is very sad. Just remember her with a big smile in your face for all the time that you enjoyed her company. I love you girl.

Oh Nora I'm so sorry. I know how much she meant to you guys. I remember how I felt when Cali got put down, it's such an awful feeling. I love you guys!
