She's on her way....

...and still in the air. After a 17 hr. trip, Lisette is due to arrive in Nairobi in 30 minutes, 9:00 p.m. Africa time.

It was quite a day yesterday - quite a week all last week, as Lisette experienced a gamut of emotions, mostly ending in tears with, "I don't want to go!.

But she's going to be OK. It'll take a while for her to settle in, to adjust to her new surroundings and to missing her loved ones, but Lisette is going to be OK.

Here at home? Her bedroom door is closed, her kitchen chair empty. It's how we do when someone leaves.

It feels very lonely.

Lisette said she would call "in a couple of days", which sounds right. I'll keep in touch as we hear from her.

Oh! And the "one" happy comment she made yesterday? "When I arrive in Nairobi, someone will greet me with a sign. I've always wanted to be greeted with a sign!"

To which Clare responded, "Lisette. I'll make a sign and greet you outside the house. Right now. You don't need to go to Africa for that!"

Lisette is in Africa. Wow!
