Working the Homestead

Brent worried that, with his leaving, Dad and I would be very hard pressed to keep up the Homestead.

Enter Andrew.

At 15, he is too young to get a job. But we all know (and can remember from our own youth) that at 15, you need your spending money.

It has worked out well: Dad needs help and Andrew needs a job.

Dad hasn't enough work to employ Andrew full-time but, you know, there's always something here that needs to be done.

Andrew never complains, works hard and does good work; Dad couldn't be more pleased.

So if you see freezie pops in the freezer when you visit, make sure you don't eat the last one.
