Act One

Yesterday Aloise packed 2 large suitcases. These suitcases were filled with clothes, books, dvds and other personal belongings. And these suitcases were traveling with her to her future home in San Diego.

Said Dad when I returned from taking Aloise to the airport, "I felt rather gloomy after Aloise left. A kind of preview, I guess, of what's to come."

I had rushed to take this photo (my battery telling me it was dead, which is why I couldn't take another better one) because I also understood that this was, indeed, act one of Aloise leaving us to start her new life.

But it will be a good life. As Dad also remarked, "She's going to be OK because she's marrying well."
