And Cheddar guiness apple fondue and red wine. And the college weather nostalgia.

I didn't have to teach today and got to have a cozy rainy morning/afternoon reading A Game of Thrones with some tea and Dad's spankin' new fireplace!

Reezette is excited for more of that.

Yeah OK and soup and the schedule that school brings. Wearing layers. Leaves I can watch and smell and don't have to rake. tea.

Not excited to lose daylight or my tan.

That part of October when the baseball playoffs coincide with the middle of the nfl regular season.

early sunsets against brilliant blue skies on crisp clean days (and the obligatory feminine hygiene product jokes that come with it)

the perverse vigilance of the men in my neighborhood waiting for falling leaves - like feeding greedy ducks at a pond. After all, allowing one single leaf to rest one moment too long will set off a fiery, cataclysmic chain reaction that ends with the earth opening up and swallowing their houses whole. take a break fellas,it'll be allright. Go make some hot chocolate or something.

Hot chocolate

Finally putting away all my white clothes after Labor Day

The debate about whether or not we should celebrate columbus day (I mean do you know what he DID? and there's a holiday named after him? I mean WTF - [Luca, that stands for "why the face?"]

indian summer

Corncobs that gets checkerboard patterned kernels in browns and blacks (it's very harvesty)

Ann eating too much candy corn and telling me that she doesn't really like it and why did I let her eat it

candy corn

buying Ann more candy corn

Leo and Halloween - a more harmonious coupling I know not

For the dang Florida humidity to be over so I can actually imagine that it is, in fact, fall. And to start making all the apple recipes I've been longing for. And to go home to CT sometime where it actually IS fall.

And Frank's fall.
