Wednesdays with Leo ~ 9

Dear Leo:

I know this is one of yours and Luca's favortite things to do. And we'll get back to this picture later on.

In the meantime, I wanted to tell you this:
I didn't get around to taking any pictures of you today during your day at Ma's House. But if I had, everyone would have seen what a good 4 yr.old cousin you were to little Henry, who was spending the day here with Aunt Catherine.
They would have seen you racing around the room to make him laugh and playing hide 'n' go seek under the table to make him laugh some more.  They also would have seen you swinging next to Henry outside, making faces at him and trying to get him to laugh some more.
Remember I asked you if you wanted me to turn your swing around (since the sun wouldn't be shining in your face this time of year) and you said, "Perfect! Now I can count the chimneys on your house again!"
But best of all ~ funnest of all ~ was when Catherine came outside with the chocolate ice-cream cone that was really a bubble blower!  We had the "attack of the bubbles" and you ran and ran and ran around the yard catching all those bubble Catherine blew at you?  And then you asked if you could try it and you blew them soooo well!
Before Catherine and Henry went home, you ate the strawberries Poppi picked - just for you - and Catherine told you you could take the chocolate ice-cream bubble blower (and it smelled like chocolate, too) home with you. That was so perfect
And I got a bag for you so you could put in the leaves you picked for Mom; your present for her.
Later I tended to my plants outside while you played with your "power stick" on the front lawn...and then we went for a little walk (and you were getting pretty tired by then) so we came home and you watched a show.
When I told you it was time to go home (Luca will be getting off the bus soon), you were a little hesitant.
"Ma", there are things we didn't do today."
"Can you tell me what things those are?"
"Well", you answered as you leaned against the kitchen door,"I'm going to have to think about that for a while"
And you did.
"We didn't play with the Little People"
"Or with the Bat Cave or your superheroes", I added. "But you DID blow lots of bubbles!"
And you smiled when you remembered you could take the bubble blower home :)
Well, Leo, I had a great time with you and Henry and you were really happy to show Mommy and Luca your bubble blower ~ you're a great bubble blower now!
So here's what I want to tell you:
Our day today was a little different from other days we spend together (you also reminded me that we hadn't gone to park today) but we both had big surprises:
You had your bubble blower.
And me?  Well...
THIS was MY surprise when I came home!  I saw the flames through the kitchen window and smelled the wood burning and....WHOOPEE!
I think we BOTH had Super good surprises today:)
