Dad really didn't like the last post picture of Lady Jane being...not so ladylike.
He's commented to me more than once, "I wish someone would post something so I wouldn't have to look at that picture."
And as lazy a bunch as we are about posting anything, I thought, "Good luck with that!"
Well. I had to look at some old picture albums of my family (for pics of Granner) and came upon these, among many others.
They all gave me a laugh as I remembered when each one was taken; talk about memory lane.
I'm not sure these are much "prettier" than Jane's, but they are goofy enough that I thought Dad (and you?) might enjoy looking at them until the next post.
Vanity is NOT operating here!
In MD. I was 8 or 9. Uncle Michael took this one of me "being silly." I recall Lita wasn't thrilled that we had gone into her room "looking for stuff" and had walked away with her camera. Still... it's one of very few pictures of me at that age.
In Spain, 1962; I was 11. We had just gotten these 2 kittens and I was trying to "make them my friends."
I had also just gotten the hideous glasses, my first pair. Granner hated them so much that during a trip to Italy a month or so later, he threw them off the balcony of our hotel room! Lita was not happy about that; I was thrilled!
Gawky at 13, with Michael and Willie in MD. I had put on lots of weight a year earlier and was just starting to take it off; must have been a growth spurt. I was at least 1 Ft. taller than Michael for what seemed to be forever.
Check out the date. And the athletic poise. And the "skiing garb." This was it, kiddies; the day that changed everything, the day I DID NOT want to go skiing. I had never been before and had never wanted to (contrary to all the other sports I loved and excelled in) but was made to go because some Aunt or Uncle visiting us during that Thanksgiving break wanted us to have fun so paid for a day of "fun skiing." I'm guessing it wasn't too long before this picture was taken that I fell, twisting my skates around me so badly that our instructor needed the help of his assistant to get me untangled.
And that was the end of sports for me. My knee was so badly injured that I required surgery...and the rest is history. AUGH!!
And finally, this gem. OMG!! This was the winter of 1970. (I'd forgotten how cold the evenings could be when we lived in VA. Underneath the robe I'm wearing fleece pj's.) A year later I was engaged to Dad, but I seriously doubt he would have taken a second look if he had seen this picture of me first! hahaha!

Love this post! I don't think I've ever seen any of these pictures before! More more!!
MOM!!!!!!!!!!!
I am DYING over these. The second one is terrrrrribbbllleeeeeeeeeeeeeee ahahhaha
And why do you look 7ft tall in the third one??? Aren't you a delicate "5'6 or "5'7?? I don't know why this is cracking me up so much.
These were such a pleasant surprise. I've never seen them. The second one - Will, try to duplicate the face, Mojo, post it, I bet it will be indistinguishable, save the long hair!
Thanks for the smile.
HAHAHAHAHA!!
So sorry Aloise, but the first thing I thought of with the second picture is you!!!
Glad I gave you all a laugh :)
Lisette: I was my 5 5/12 height in the third picture ~ but I posted that particular one b/c I do look like a giant ~ which is how I felt next to Michael all summer long. I have another one of the 2 of us ~ it's AWFUL of me ~ and really shows how much taller I was than Michael. If I find it, I'll post it.
Cat: I'll do my best and see what I can find (more pics) but mostly they'll be of other of my family members.
PS I'm still laughing!
Those glasses are awful. They look like penciled in eyebrows.
