Leo and I ventured out to the garden to check Dad's garlic patch. Dad had been telling me for days how well the garlic was doing and (not standing by my man) I had let the cold, windy weather keep me away from looking at this first crop of the season. Leo knew exactly how many heads Dad had planted, "800! He told Maggie and me last week"
As we walked around the garden - in and out of the paths - Dad met us and asked Leo would he like to help him place some rods around the broccoli and cauliflower so as to keep the deer out? It was then that Dad showed Leo the deer tracks and explained that by covering the crop (a wrap over the rods) the dear might stay away.
Unfortunately, I didn't think to take pictures of the wrap that Dad placed on the plants before dark. Leo had reminded me, "Tell Poppi NOT to forget about the wrap. He told me that sometimes he forgets things. Like my Dad. He ALWAYS forgets things, which is weird, because he's a very intelligent man!"
All in all, a very successful day at the Homestead.

Is this kid for real?
Love this :)
It's that wonderful time of the year again! I love garden posts, especially ones with chilluns in it!
Well, you know how I feel about this kid. But garden posts, ohhhh thank the Lord.
Hooray for garden season! And no, sometimes I do not think Leo is for real.
