Lucia is leaving today for a week at the beach with her family and grandparents.
I asked her would she bring me back a pretty shell?
Without hesitation, she answered, "No."
I asked her again. And again. And then later, again.
Each time she replied, "No", without any explanation as to why she wouldn't do this for me.
When it was time for her to leave (she was here for dinner), she asked me would I pick her up and put her in the car.
So I did.
And then I asked her again, would she look for a shell and bring it back for me?
She smiled and replied, "How about thome thand?".

The day she left for the beach, Martha stopped by here and Dad somehow got her to promise HIM she would bring him back a shell.
