That's right; Martha and Chad's Wedding Reception will be in our very own way-back, backyard.
Think b-i-g tent, purple flowers, white lights on the trees in the orchard, and.....porta-potties for the men. (Men: you can take this up with the bride-to-be).
(And now you know why Dad was concerned about the pool. Me? The darn thing has stood the test of time - 23 yrs. There's gotta be something in that to be proud about! But, Dad? No, he's not a "shabby-chic" enthusiast. Instead, "That pool is an eyesore!")

It's going to be beautiful. I can't wait to help plan. Wait, can I help plan?
Martha, Annie's going to have lots of ideas for you. Don't worry about the crazy ones. Just wait a day and she'll have more.
WAIT! As far as the port-a-potties- only for the men, and they will be the clean big ones with the sinks and light fixtures, I SWEAR!
... I love how I make this sudden appearance. I cooly stalk from the shadows, and make an appearance now that it's about me. Utterly shameful.
And it is going to be BEAUUTIIFUL. Just you wait!
There's no such thing as a clean port-a-potty. You have to poo on top of someone else's poo. But nice try.
Why porta potties for the guys? There are 3 bathrooms in the house, no?
As for ideas.... home-grown flowers, pale lavendar icing on chocolate cake (how gorgeous!) and exotic kebabs.
Not too crazy. Is it! Unless you mean crazy good. ; )
I can't WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Though Marty -- I think the silk you're thinking of for the girls' dresses will be too heavy for summer. No?
ooooooooooooh! Another wedding!!!!!!!!!!!!
Correction: there are TWO bathrooms in the house for use. I'm willing to give over my yard, but NOT my bathroom.
Still, I think it would be OK to have the men use either of the TWO AVAILABLE.
Why this discrimination against men. Are the men in our lives filthier than I realize??
No, it was more about trying to regulate house traffic.
Martha concluded that women use bathrooms to "tidy up" as much as anything else, while men mostly just do their thing :)
Martha's been to quite a few outdoor receptions and said that "porta-potties" are often used. These, she explained, are not your run-of-the-mill potties. Rather, they are large ( sink included), lighted and very clean. And, Mary: if I'm not mistaken, the one's used at Lisette's graduation were not objectionable.
Anyway, I certainly won't subject men to anything "unclean"; we'll have to look into this.
We're talking maybe 200 guests. It's worth looking into!
Yeah, the ones at Lisette's graduation were very nice. I think this is a great option (though maybe an expense that could be done without). I was just using the opportunity to make a poop joke.
200 people...yikes! Where are they all coming from?
Our family ( pretty large group..about 80) and now that we have room for it, Chad and his extended local family; Meaning, family members from his Mom's side that we wouldn't be able to invite otherwise. Her cousins, I think.
And this doesn't include friends, etc.
Hey: more Italians, more moola for Chad and Martha!
