Happy Feast Day Andrew!

Today is Andrew's Feast Day! St. Andrew was first a follower of John the Baptist before he became an apostle of Jesus. He would later be crucified as he taught about Christ to the Gentiles.

(Like you Andrew, St. Andrew was also a good brother! He brought his brother Peter to Jesus and St. Peter would be the first man to recognize openly that Jesus was God and would become the first Pope of the Catholic Church.)

The following is an excerpt from the First Letter of Paul to the Corinthians, which is the reading that all of the Church around the world read this morning to honor St. Andrew:

"Not many of you are wise, as men account wisdom; not many are influential; and surely not many are well-born. God chose those whom the world considers absurd to shame the wise; he singled out the weak of this world to shame the strong. He chose the world's lowborn and despised, those who count for nothing, to reduce to nothing those who were something, so that mankind can do no boasting before God."

I will say a special prayer for you tonight, Andrew.

Feast days are so special; we should all know our own.I said a special prayer for you, Andrew, last night, before I went to bed.

Happy Feast Day Andrew.

Though if you look closely... I'm not entirely sure Clare didn't call you absurd, weak, lowborn and despised.

I just thought I'd sneak that in there.
