Yesterday I rec'd a package in the mail from Uncle Brent. It was Christmas in April.
In the package, a host of campaign memorabilia from Granner's (unsuccessful) run for Congress in 1964, among other odds and ends of Granner related gems. Included, a typewritten letter (by Granner...oh my, that yellow typing paper we all used back then!) stating various principles, etc. It was sent to him by the son of a good friend (of Lita and Granner) who helped in that campaign.
Uncle Brent's intention was for me to "parcel" out this material to all of you. But I have a different idea:
In my bedroom I have all sorts of newspapers and letters about Granner that were written afer his death. All these years and I haven't known what do with all of it but couldn't stand to part with any of it.
Now I'm thinking that a scrapbook is the way to go. Everything in one book (a la Mimi) and who knows what else can be included as time goes by.
Maureen: will you help me with this?

absolutely!!
Wonderful idea!
Oh how hard it is to look at that picture of the young and valient Brent!! What a mystery, what a mystery. God grant me to be as true to my calling as he was to his.
Such a great idea!!
Frank has input on how this is put together, from an archival/protecting the material point of view. He told me "tell your mom this and that and this."
I said, "how about you tell her?"
"*I'm* not going to tell her what to do!"
So, ask him.
