We are heading into competion in a few hours and feeling excited! We are one of the 32 teams left out of the 100+ who started competition and it is still single elimination. Should we win we will move on to top 16 and be the winningst Mock Trial team in school history.
Our competition is a large public high school in the Bronx, which is good. Not that it hasn't been fun to take out two of the most prestitgious and expensive schools in the city in earlier rounds, but it feel nice to be among our own. We have tried to make no assumptions about the opposing team. That was done to us and those teams that did it, well, they aren't in competition anymore....
Jaime, Jonathan, and Mark will be with us in spirit as they are traveling upstate for the Senior Encounter retreat and we pray for what will be a deeply rewarding weekend for them (and get some digits, dudes, girls are there!) Jaime and Mark are not slated to compete today, but Plaintiff witness Jonathan was. When we realized that he might not be able to go on retreat Dimitri stepped in and offered to memorize the not unsubstantial part for him. He's got it down perfectly.
Should we win, we will go right back up on Monday, so we have been prepping both Defense and Plaintiff teams for competition. That said our game plan is to expect to do our best, but plan on winning so we are prepared. We feel this is our best strategy since teams are now ranked and we found out last week that out of 32 we are ranked.....
SIX!
Not surprising considering how hard we work.
Go Stags.

May these lads give their best. And if they win the next round, may they acknowledge the woman who cheered and prayed them there. Spring is coming, Spring is coming, Spring is coming. JPII said it, so it must be true.
If all my sons' teachers could be like Clare, I would never consider homeschooling them.
Well????
