Yes, Lisette, I did finish "Here Be Dragons". (You had the stage last night, which distracted me from conveying that exciting news). But on that note, I have to correct my previous post.
1) I mistakenly wrote that "The Sunne in Splendour" was Penman's 2nd book in the "Dragons" trilogy. And that because of Lisette's shout message. In fact, these 2 above, complete the series. Realizing this (and finishing "Dragons") is what had me rethinking my next read.
2) Although Penman's writings do contain a good amount of fiction, her books are based on historical facts, much of which she explains in her "author's notes" at the end of the book. My previous post might have left you with thinking that the opposite was true.
3) You'll learn History regardless of whether you read Alison Weir or Sharon Kay Penman.

You're a fool for not reading the trilogy straight through, Mom. But at least Eleanor is the same time periodish. However, I must add that "Falls the Shadow" has the most wonderful protagonist (Simon de Montford) and I'm slightly in love, although Llewelyn still has my heart.
Clare, I could kiss you for these books! Kiss ya I say! A big wet one!
I do remember loving Simon. A lot. Lisette, I am not sure if I am to be praised or not. I did rent "Dances With Wolves" for you to watch...not sure how that turned out.
HA!!
