Remembering 9/11 and the Way Forward

"Now who would want to improve upon a child?"*

Well, this wasn't a very apprpriate reference to the tragedy of 9/11. But I've come to just love babies and see in them not just "a new beginning," but the real "act of faith" that our culture is unwilling to make. We have it all figured out: Make sure your IRA is fully funded. Make sure your insurance policies are paid up. Don't take chances. And above all budget, budget for the future. Well, I can't judge this, but My God, what happened to really, really, really trusting that The Good Lord would take care of us if only we would do our part?

PS: As you all know I do none of this. I worry too much. But I'd like to.

Amen! I'm for real life learning now that trusting in God to take care of us really works! Doing so more than ever in the last month or so, I'm coming to really understand just how comforting he is to us--how he really allows us to let our anxiety slip through the cracks, and let love for him and life fill them back in. And right about now the foundation Chad and I are standing on feels pretty solid.

And speaking of babies, Alexander, where are you? How is it we haven't seen a picture of you on Brewsters Millions yet?
