Aloise and Gertie joined us Wed. evening. Aloise drove from Germany where she is currently living and working.
Dad and I got together with them for Mass, Vespers and then a visit with Michael in the gardens. And "cocktail hour" of course. We never missed that. We enjoyed this event Wed. at the "girl's house", eating and talking and drinking until quite late. We didn't have a proper dinner that evening as the food we had all contributed was varied, bountiful and very, very good!
Thursday is Michael's day off. He had wanted us to take a walk after Vespers and then we would all get together at our house for "cocktail hour". Our friend Mary also wanted time with us so that Thursday turned out to be a busy day.
Mary treated us all to lunch at the Hotel after Mass. It was a 2 hr. event followed very quickly by Vespers which was early on Thursday - now beginning the summer schedule.
Gertie was nursing a lame leg so that Aloise wasn't able to join us on our walk. Mercedes had decided to rest: Mass, visit with Michael, lunch, Vespers - all following in such short order, she was quickly fading. And there was still "cocktail hour" to come.
So it was just Dad, Maureen and me with Michael on the walk. We walked in a wooded area outside of town- just walked and talked. I lagged behind and took the video below - just for fun.
On the way back to town, Dad introduced Michael to Miss Garmin, our GPS lady. She had done a wonderful job getting us from Paris to Solesmes; we were so proud of her. But, oh! what dreadful pronunciation when it came to telling us what roads to take. But she took us straight to our door without a hitch!
