Our Sweet Pea

6 hours old. We met him briefly before heading out to surgery. He was baptized before this.

4 days old (yesterday).
I think his hair might end up blonde. His skin is surely sensitive enough to be pale, as you can see below and in the video. He was born with a strange rash that's healing and peeling. No harm Paul, you're pretty enough.

Tiny legs and ankles, with oh so sensitive little toes.

Poppy and the littlest one.

2 minutes of a baby sleeping? Yup. : )

Paul, we love you so much, all of us.

Brent is 20!

I know you'll never forget your birthday in Solesmes last year with Uncle Michael and Clare. Your plans for this past year didn't come to fruition but you also know what a blessing it was for us to have you home during Dad's long sojourn at sea.
Now you're 20. And now, Brent, it's time to Slay the Dragons.

Happy birthday, Brent!

Happy Birthday, Aloise!

Is it possible she's 22?

Aloise, it was 22 yrs. ago, almost to the hour, that I knew I this would be the day of your birth. While I made a last grocery run, Dad called Granny and we were on our way to the hospital by 12:30. What amuses me to this day is that Dad took the opportunity of my being in labor to break every speed limit - including running stop signs and red lights. I expressed to him that my contractions were neither close enough not hard enough for him to be breaking the law. He turned to me laughing and replied, "You're in labor. It isn't every day I get to drive like this." Not much I could say to that!

Happy Birthday, dear girl.

Nora is 29!

I never know ahead of time which - if any - pictures I'm going to post for birthdays. And I'm rarely sure what compels me to choose the pictures I finally publish. This time around (while perusing my photos) I went straight for these: Homestead; Granpa's little girl; and lovely lass.

Happy birthday, Nora. So hard to believe you're 29. Celebrate well!

The Calm: A 4th Birthday

What a lovely family party we had! With Ma, Nonna, Lisette and Aloise celebrating with us. Spaghetti, meatballs and steak, then chocolate cake and ice cream. Drumsticks, guitar, soccer ball, "I Love You Because You're You" book, Italian/English Picture Dictionary, baseballs and a mitt (remember the mitt Luca? No...? oh well.)

Are we really parents of a 14 yr old?

"Happy birthday, Andrew!" We love you more than you know, and we're so proud of you.
Today, we had an opportunity to go to a charity event at Fenway in Boston, really cool! We let the boys play hooky...so great to be on Andrew's bday, and we spent the day there. (Luke stayed behind, sorry Lukie)
We saw Walley, got tours of all the special seats and sections, learned the history of the Red Sox, snuck the actual dirt from the field into baggies :), and got to see legend Louie Tiant.
The boys waited patiently with their gloves....and got him to sign them! It was really quite magical being right there, mom, and I thought of you.
Sooo looking forward to seeing everyone next week!!!

Birthday Greetings, Cy!

Yes, he gets more pictures than the rest of you.  But that's because he's so darn cute!
Do you know that I don't have any other photo of Lita holding my babies?  So, of course, I had to post this one with Mr. B.

Mr. B. ; that started with Dad.  And not a few were worried that the name would stick far beyond childhood if we didn't stop in good time.  Our neighbour in SC loved the name, said it was unique and fit Cy well.  And it did.
So, Mr. B, have a wonderful day with your family, send us some pictures of all of you, re-join our blog, come visit soon and have a very Happy Birthday!
