"Life with Obama"(click for full article)
by David Freddoso
Excerpt:
"On March 30, 2001, Obama was the only senator to speak in opposition to a bill that would have banned the practice of leaving premature abortion survivors to die. The bill, SB 1095, was carefully limited, its language unambiguous. It applied only to premature babies, already born alive. It stated simply that under Illinois law, 'the words "person," "human being," "child," and "individual" include every infant member of the species homo sapiens who is born alive at any stage of development.'
...
"Given Obama’s position on babies born alive, it should come as no surprise that he opposes and denounces all restrictions on every kind of abortion, including partial-birth abortions. He promised at a Planned Parenthood event in July 2007 that 'the first thing' he will do as president — his top priority for the nation — is sign the Freedom of Choice Act, which would erase every federal and state restriction on abortion, no matter how modest. His top priority, again, is to re-legalize partial birth abortion under all circumstances, abolish all laws on informed consent and parental notification, and eliminate all state restrictions on taxpayer funding of abortions.
"No humanitarian impulse or consideration of bipartisanship has ever swayed Barack Obama’s legislative mind on the issue of abortion. Pro-life voters who try to convince themselves otherwise engage in willful self-deception."

Summary: Recently, Obama has said that the Nat'l Right To Life is lying about the above - that he vetoed the bill because it was ambiguous about it's impact on abortion rights. He in fact is the one lying.

November Can't Come Soon Enough

Mike passed this email and article to me that he received from a Catholic/Pro-Life professor of his from Holy Cross. I'm so entirely sick of all the election coverage, yet I keep watching. Anyway, I'm passing it on to you all to get opinions, as I can't seem to make up my mind between not voting at all, voting Mccain, or *gasp* giving Obama some thought.
Here it is:
Both John McCain and the Democrats are giving Catholics reasons to reconsider which party can and will do more to reduce the number of abortions in America.
When on August 11, McCain told the Weekly Standard that he welcomed pro-choice Republicans, he articulated openly what has been obvious for some time: the GOP uses the issue to get votes, but will not outlaw abortion.
No less an expert than Prof. Douglas Kmiec, once professor of law at Catholic University, and a former Reagan Administration lawyer who wrote briefs for the Supreme Court to overturn Roe v. Wade, now says the Democrats have a stronger approach to reducing abortions.

Where Are They Now? A Dialogue Towards a Deeper Understanding
We're just shy of 11 months of Brewsters MIllions. We've laughed, we've cried, we've shared at a lot of baby pictures. A LOT.
And we've wondered: Where the heck are Catherine, Cy, Cathy and Brent?
Yes folks, below we have the remaining lineup of the non-participants:

Now, lest we get offended that in 11 months none of the above have done so much as COMMENT on our dear blog, I propose we put ourselves in their shoes. After all, there are MANY things that could keep any one of us from even clicking on the Brewsters Millions link on our bookmarks -- what! you don't have it bookmarked??
But I digress. In a spirit of charity, I propose that we explore the many reasons our beloved sisters and brothers have ignored, nay spurned this joint effort to stay in touch.
And thus, the challenge to YOU dear fellow blogger is to tell us:

What are they doing that is keeping them from partaking???
Yours in an effort to understand,
