A berry buri endeavor

The deer population at Chad and Mary's is a huge obstacle to planting any kind of vegetable garden.  With that in mind, and because Dad really wanted Mary to be able to have some fresh veggies this summer, he came up with the idea of planting in pots:)
The problem, then, was where to keep the pots.  The porch seemed a good idea until it wasn't; not enough sun throughout the day unless Mary wants to pick up 16 heavy pots every day and transfer them back and forth to the morning/afternoon sunny sides.
And then we just hoped the deer might not show up - that they might have enough food to munch on now that summer is here.
No such luck.
The last evening and day I was there, we saw 4 deer.  Charlie checked the pots first thing in the morning and saw no deer damage.  But you never know.

And then I rec'd this email today from Mary and had to post it:

"A solution!  There were bushes there this morning.  Now it will be our potted vegetable garden! Charlie has his own working gloves and has been cleaning for 2 hr. with Chad."

"Going to make a little path with the stones. Chad found some asparagus and carrots as proof some one has gardened there before."

Charlie has three younger siblings. Well, three younger sisters. How about that.
